Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy (Finlit) classes were held online at Hariharananda Balashram in collaboration with Enactus Somaiya Social Cell of KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai. The classes were organized for Chrysalis students who were undergoing graduation, post-graduation, nursing, diploma, ITI courses etc. The classes started from 24th January and continued till 9th February 2022. Thirty students including 13 girls attended the classes. The classes were held separately for boys and girls at Sadhana Sadan of Hariharananda Balashram.
The students of KJ Somaiya Institute of Management conducted the online classes from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm every day except Sunday. The subjects of the Fin-lit course are Savings (Why should one save? ABC of saving, Where can we save? etc.), Banking (Function & services, Types of savings, Types of Accounts, How to open accounts? Types of loan, Online banking etc.), Investment (Short & long term options, Post office savings, Stock market, Company fixed deposit, Mutual Fund etc.). In this classes student got a clear idea about savings, banking, insurance, investment, loan, micro-finance, fraud etc. The lecturers were very friendly and they kept their label best to make them understand. The students as an active listener listen to their lectures patiently & asked their doubts.
