The World Thinking Day was celebrated by Hariharananda Balashram Scouts and Guides on 22.02.22 on morning assembly.Mrs Bijayalaxmi Samal and two students deliberated their talk on the significance of the day.Principal Br.Bodhanandaji advised the students to follow the rules of laws of Scouts and Guides.
In the afternoon Scout Master Mr. Gopinath Dash and Guide Captain Mrs Ambika Mohanty arranged Investiture Ceremony of standard VII students.Due to Covid the ceremony was belated. After the Investiture sweets were distributed to all Scouts and Guides, Principal also present.At last students performed Surya Namaskar and cleaned the road side.

Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy (Finlit) classes were held online at Hariharananda Balashram in collaboration with Enactus Somaiya Social Cell of KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai. The classes were organized for Chrysalis students who were undergoing graduation, post-graduation, nursing, diploma, ITI courses etc. The classes started from 24th January and continued till 9th February 2022. Thirty students including 13 girls attended the classes. The classes were held separately for boys and girls at Sadhana Sadan of Hariharananda Balashram.
The students of KJ Somaiya Institute of Management conducted the online classes from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm every day except Sunday. The subjects of the Fin-lit course are Savings (Why should one save? ABC of saving, Where can we save? etc.), Banking (Function & services, Types of savings, Types of Accounts, How to open accounts? Types of loan, Online banking etc.), Investment (Short & long term options, Post office savings, Stock market, Company fixed deposit, Mutual Fund etc.). In this classes student got a clear idea about savings, banking, insurance, investment, loan, micro-finance, fraud etc. The lecturers were very friendly and they kept their label best to make them understand. The students as an active listener listen to their lectures patiently & asked their doubts.

SAMKALPA II- Moral Education Camp at HB

SAMKALPA means firm determination. One must be clear about the goal of life and be determined to achieve this. The goal of life in turn is determined by his/her inculcated moral values. Moral Education Camp was a step towards inculcating high moral values among the senior students of Hariharananda Balashram through proper understanding of its implications.

The camp was inaugurated on 9th October by Sri Ramesh Chandra Jethi, Principal, Womens’ College, Pattamundai. In his inaugural speech Mr. Jethi stressed about the moral education for the wholesome development of the students. The camp had Yoga session by Br. Yogesh, meditation by Swami Anandananda Giri and video talk by Sri Guruji on “Ideal of Yogic Life – Paramahamsa Yogananda” in the morning session. Moral Education classes on ‘Practicing Patience”, Freedom from Sorrow” & “Freedom from Faultfinding Nature” followed by Group Discussion and Presentation ware held in the pre-lunch session. In the evening Satsanga Swami Achalananda Giri, Swami Anandananda Giri, Swami Girijananda Giri, Swami Sugeetananda Giri, Swami Devapriyananda Giri, Swami Jyotirmayananda Giri and Swami Viswarupananda Giri explained about the importance of moral values by narrating stories from Ramayana, Bhagavattam, Jagannath Culture and Mother Durga.

Song, Debate, Art & Geeta Chanting Competitions were organised during the camp. There were presentations of skits on ‘Yogic Life’ by the participants in various groups. A beautiful cultural programme was staged by the Balashram children which was enjoyed by all. During ‘Camp Fire’ on the night of 4th day of the camp, students resolved before the Fire God to follow certail moral values in their life. The camp came to a close on 13th October 2021. The valedictory function was graced by Swami Samarpanananda Giri and Sri Pravakar Rout, Principal, Pattamundai Degree College.
The camp left a memorable mark on the minds of the young boys and girls to live a life honouring some basic moral values that will help them to grow as a responsible citizen contributing to the betterment of the nation.

SAMKALPA – Moral Education Camp

A moral education camp was organized in the premises of Hariharananda Balashram at Sadhana Sadan for class IV to IX students of the Balashram between 11th April and !5th April 2021. The camp was held in two sessions – morning and evening. The morning session was conducted for class VII to IX students while the evening session was conducted for class IV to VI students.
